On May 11th, 2017, Liu Jiayi, Secretary of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, met with Horst Seehofer, the Minister-president of Bavaria in Jinan, Shandong, .
Liu Jiayi welcomed the visit of Horst Seehofer and his delegation. Liu said Shandong is a leading province in economy, culture and resources in China. Now Shandong is stepping up efforts to transfer the old energy into the new one and promote the supply-side structural reform so as to realize the economic transformation and development. Bavaria is not only the economic powerhouse of Germany but a highland of scientific research and technology. So there is great potential and broad room for the cooperation between Shandong and Bavaria.
Shandong and Bavaria have been sister province/state for 30 years and achieved fruitful results in various fields. "On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Shandong-Bavaria sister relations, I hope this will be another new start for both sides to deepen strategic cooperation, broaden investment scale and cooperative areas and strengthen project docking, so as to arrive a win-win cooperation," said Liu Jiayi.
“Shandong and Bavaria are both vigorous in economy,” said Horst Seehofer. “What impressed me deeply is the love of the people here for their homeland.”
Both sides have conducted a productive meeting. Great progresses have been achieved in the cooperation and docking of Germany's Industry 4.0 and China's Made in China 2025.
Horst Seehofer said he wishes the final implementation of the cooperative projects and more substantial cooperative fruits to benefit the two peoples.
The Speaker of Bavarian State Parliament Barbara Stamm and Shandong provincial leaders Yu Xiaoming and Wang Shujian attended the meeting.
