On the afternoon of September 1st, Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong Province, met with Mr. Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia Province of Canada.
Mr. Gong expressed welcome to the guests and introduced to them the latest changes and development of Shandong. “Shandong is implementing the major program of replacing old growth drivers with new ones. This effort will present new opportunities for us to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. I hope our two provinces could step up government-to-government exchanges, expand business engagement and promote more cooperation projects in marine science, higher education and energy, in a bid to realize win-win outcome", said Mr. Gong.
Premier Stephen McNeil introduced the advantages of Nova Scotia in aquaculture, tidal energy and deepwater port and said he would make more efforts in advancing concrete cooperation between the two sides on more fronts and in deeper level.
H.E. Ambassador John McCallum, Vice Governor Ren Airong, Secretary-General Wang Hua, as well as heads of Shandong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Shandong Provincial Department of Ocean and Fishery and Shandong Provincial Department of Commerce also attended the event.
